Aine Wendler Piano Studio Summer Information

As we are rapidly approaching the end of the 2015 – 2016 school year, it is time to look at some studio summer information and recap the school year nearly over. It has been an amazing year for the Aine Wendler Piano Studio. Since last summer, students from this studio have risen to many challenges and attained some extremely lofty goals.  Students have performed at last July’s Mid America Music Association (M.A.M.A.) Summer Music Festival, Missouri Music Teachers Association (MMTA) District Auditions in Warrensburg, MO, in September, followed by MMTA State Competitions in Cape Girardeau, MO, in November. In October, students performed at the Kansas City Music Teachers Association (KCMTA) Fall Festival celebrating music of the Romantic Era. We had two, big, all-studio recitals on December 5, and, finally, performances of holiday music in the Grand Hall at Union Station on December 12. Most recently, we celebrated Spring with two recitals on April 16 featuring many 2-piano duos, 1-piano duets, and ten movements from concerto repertoire.

The following is a review of summer information and policies:

PLEASE NOTE:  THE STUDIO WILL BE CLOSED MAY 23 – 31, 2016, FOR THE MEMORIAL DAY/END-OF-SCHOOL-YEAR BREAK. LESSONS RESUME FOR THE SUMMER TERM ON JUNE 1, 2016. PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN EXPLORING A DIFFERENT LESSON TIME FOR SUMMER.

Reminder: as stated in the Studio Policy document, and as discussed at the introductory meeting, this is a year-round studio. Rather than tuition being charged per number of lessons in a month, it is based on a 40-lesson teaching year.  The 40 lessons are factored into an annual tuition which is divided into equal monthly installments. Tuition payments remain the same month-to-month.  This studio does not break for the summer – for families going on extended trips or wanting a break, tuition must be paid in advance to hold your child’s place on the studio schedule. Unpaid vacancies will be filled immediately and openings cannot be guaranteed for families forfeiting their place on the studio schedule.

As we look ahead to the coming summer and 2016-2017 lesson year, this studio will be busier than ever. We are going into Fall with a large roster of strong students – both transfer students and new beginners as well as the wonderful students who have been a long-time part of this studio. I look forward to continued learning, growth, and good times!!!
