MMTA District Honors Auditions 2014

Bravo to Andrew Johnson (grade 2), Jasmine Henry (grade 5), Elijah Lillie (grade 7), and Paula Sweeny (grade 7) of the Aine Wendler Piano Studio!!! These students, each, received the highest rating of a I at the 2014 Missouri Music Teachers Association (MMTA) District Honors Auditions today held at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO.  This event is very challenging and each of these students, by earning a “I” rating, will go on to the MMTA State Competitions held at MU in Columbia, MO, on November 9, 2014.  These wonderful students have invested drive, commitment, spirit, and incredibly hard, dedicated work to reach this goal.  Onward to Mizzou!!!

Andrew performed, “Elephant Stomp” (Olson) and Sonatina in C (Duncombe)

Jasmine performed, “Sonatina, Op. 36, No. 1”, Allegro (Clementi) and “Clowns”, Op. 39, No. 20 (Kabalevsky)

Elijah performed, “Tarantella” (Austin) and “Fanfare Minuet” (Duncombe)

Paula performed, “Sonata No. 6 in a minor” (Pescetti) and “Evening in the Country” (Bartok).
